VISIONFEST 12 encourages and promotes domestic filmmaking: Projects may be shot on international locations and have foreign financing, however, the production entity/entities must be based in the United States of America. Films that contain dialogue spoken in foreign languages may be submitted, provided that the film's primary language is English. (No more than 1/3 of the film's dialogue may be in a foreign llanguage)

Submitted projects are NOT eligible if they have screened in more than (2) other New York based film festivals prior to the prospective VISIONFEST 11 screening. New York "Premiere" status is preferred, but not mandatory.

Projects must have a completion date that is no earlier than January 1, 2011.

Projects that are available in their "complete" form for online viewing prior to their prospective VF12 screening will automatically be disqualified and rejected from the festival's line-up.

Submitted 'previews' must be in MiniDV, DVCAM, or DVD formats (NTSC only), unless a S.A.S.E. (including the proper shipping and handling costs) is provided by the filmmaker(s). Data files submitted on disc are also accepted, as long as the submitted files can be easily opened via Quicktime or Windows Media.

All 'previews' for projects that qualify for festival exhibition shall remain in possession of festival committee for archival reference and/or 'festival trailer' production.

Projects must have been completed on budgets that do not exceed $US 2.5 Million

For the INDEPENDENT VISION SHOWCASE, special "outstanding achievement" awards are bestowed upon qualifying entries. Honorees are chosen by a select group of industry professionals, who are given special advance screenings of the projects that are included in the festival's 'official' screening line-up, to facilitate the casting of their votes.

Please make check or money order payable to:

ONLY (1) ONE PROJECT PER SUBMISSION - ADDITIONAL ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED SEPARATELY WITH RESPECTIVE ENTRY FEE(S).

PLEASE SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING: Preview (MiniDV/DVCAM//DVD/Data Files only) - check/money order when not paying by credit card on WAB.

In the event that your project is selected for the Independent Vision Showcase, you may be required to provide additional items, such as photos (digital and/or hard copy) and revised synopses. Also, an additional "Permission to Exhibit" document will be sent to you via electronic mail, and that will have to be signed by you and returned to our offices prior to your festival screening.

Filmmakers are responsible for ALL shipping/handling costs & arrangements for exhibition prints and related materials.

VISIONFEST / DOMANI VISION FILM SOCIETY shall not be held liable for damages and/or loss resulting from shipping/handling and/or technical problems.
