VISIONFEST is an annual screenwriting competition evolving from what began in 2001 as VISIONFEST: THE OTHER FESTIVAL (commonly referred to as VF) and founded by the Domani Vision Film Society LLC, an organization dedicated to "bringing you tomorrow’s visionaries... today."  The film festival event ran for 15 consecutive years, promoting and showcasing feature length and short subject films made exclusively by U.S. based filmmakers and production entities. Narrative, documentary, experimental, music video, and animation were the key categories of the films presented and awards, including statuettes and certificates for screenwriting, were handed out each year to highlight some of the jury's favorites. The screenwriting competition portion of the event was expanded to provide a forum for unproduced screenplays starting in 2004 and continued as the ongoing, annual competition it still is today.
